Calhoun Community College to Offer
75 Full-Tuition Scholarships Through Waiver Grants
Calhoun Community College announced today that it will offer 75 full-tuition scholarships through its 2007–2008 Tuition and Fee Waiver Grant Program. The grant is a state-funded program for economically disadvantaged students that pays for tuition and fees related to attending Calhoun Community College during the Fall 2007 and Spring 2008 semesters.
For the purpose of this program, an economically disadvantaged student is defined as a student who is an Alabama resident qualifying for a Federal Pell Grant and Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG). The grant provides a waiver for tuition and fee charges for up to 60 total hours of classes taken over no more than two academic years.
To be eligible, applicants
- Must be a new student enrolled full-time (15 semester hours) for the 2007 Fall Semester.
- Must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Form may be found online at www.fafsa.ed.gov.
- Must complete the Tuition and Fee Waiver Application (available on-line at www.calhoun.edu.)
- Must be eligible for a Federal Pell Grant and SEOG.
- Must be eligible for in-state tuition rates.
- Must be admitted as a regular, degree seeking student. The student must maintain enrollment in all courses paid for through the waiver, and meet and maintain Calhoun’s Satisfactory Academic Progress requirements during the period of their enrollment.
Awards will be made to applicants who meet all qualifications on a first-come, first-serve basis. Application Deadline: June 15, 2007 (for Fall 2007 semester); October 15, 2007 (for Spring 2008 semester.) 2007-2008 Tuition and Fee Waiver Grant Application forms are available at www.calhoun.edu/financialaid/tuitionwaiver.pdf.
