Web Advisor FAQ's
Your WebAdvisor User Name
First initial of your first name + Last name + last 4 digits of your Calhoun ID number. Example: John Smith, ID # -123456 -- Username: jsmith3456
That tells me how to identify my user name, but I've Never Logged in Before, What's My Password?
Once you've applied to Calhoun, you are mailed your unique password. If you've lost that information, then follow the steps on the next section to reset your password. A temporary password will be emailed to you at the email indicated.
How to Retrieve/Reset Your Webadvisor Password
- Go to www.calhoun.edu
- Click on Web Advisor at the top
- Click Students
- Click What's My Password?
- Click I Don't Remember, Reset My Password
- Type in your last name and your 7 digit Calhoun ID number or Social Security Number
- Click Submit
- From the drop down box, click the appropriate email address. (NOTE: if you do not have an active email on file, please submit that to our Admissions & Records Office)
- Click Submit. A temporary password will be sent to your email account. You should use this password to log in the first time. After you log in for the first time with the temporary password, you will be asked to change it. Your new password must contain 6-9 characters and contain letters and numbers.
It says my password has expired.
When you log in for the first time, it may say that your password has expired.
This means that you must change your password. Make sure your new password contains 6-9 characters and includes letters and numbers.
How to Register on WebAdvisor - Go to www.calhoun.edu
- Click on Web Advisor at the top
- Click Log In
- Log in using your WebAdvisor User ID and password
- Click Register For Sections
- Click Express Registration
- Under Synonym put the 4 digit code number that corresponds to the class you want (i.e. 1329)
- Select the appropriate term (i.e. Fall 2009)
- Click Submit
- Check to be sure that the appropriate class appears. If so, click the drop down box and choose Register. *On this page, you will able to see if a class’ Availability and Capacity.
- After choosing Register for the appropriate class, click Submit. This screen will give you a summary of the screen you just completed.

You are now registered for the semester.
Be sure to print your schedule and keep it for your records.
How To Print Your Schedule
- Go to www.calhoun.edu
- Click on Web Advisor at the top
- Click Log In
- Log in using your WebAdvisor User ID and password
- Click on Students
- Under Academic Profile, click My Class Schedule
- In the drop down box, choose the appropriate semester
- Click Submit
It says my account has been disabled due to too many login attempts.
- Wait 20-30 minutes from the last attempt and try to log in again
- If doing this doesn’t allow you to log in, follow the instructions to reset your password. Use this password the first time you log in. It will ask you to change it. The new password must have 6-9 characters and must include letters and numbers.
Useful tools available in WebAdvisor:
- You can update your address, e-mail, and telephone number in the WebAdvisor system. We send official communications to you via snail mail, e-mail, and telephone, so it is very important that you keep your information up-to-date with us. Click on "Current Students" from the WebAdvisor main menu, and you will see "Address Change" under the "User Account" section.
- We have recently implemented a program evaluation module in the WebAdvisor system. This new system will allow you to see what courses you need to take to earn your degree at Calhoun. It will show the major that you are currently assigned in the stem and will give you the option to choose another major to run "what if I changed my major" scenarios. You can access "Program Evaluation" under the "Academic Planning" section of the students menu in WebAdvisor. Please note that the program evaluation is for advising purposes only and an official audit must be done by the Records Office to verify course completion towards a degree.
- If you have a question about what your program evaluation is saying, make sure that you go to see your advisor to review the information. If you need to change your major, please make sure that you stop by the Admissions and Records Office at either campus.
- You can stop by any of the offices during regular business hours or contact Decatur Advising at 256-306-2631 or 256-306-2648, Huntsville Advising at 256-890-4770, Decatur Admissions and Records at 256-306-2593, and Huntsville Admissions and Records at 256-890-4717.
Username not found in the registry. Please contact your system administrator.
If you get the "Username not found in the registry" message and you know you've entered it correctly, please call 256-306-2907 or 256-306-2596. You may also email webadvisor@calhoun.edu. Be sure to give your full name and student ID.
When all else fails, who can I call?
